The organic farm "Le Cerinaie" extends over 105 hectares at an altitude of between 400 and 800 metres. The name of the farm (from the Greek word cherion: ‘wax’, ‘honeycomb’) carries us back to a natural landscape with lush vegetation. This environment still shows the features of the ancient rural tradition of Tuscany and the centuries-old relationship between Man and Nature. The typically rural country apartments blend perfectly into a varied landscape where wild animals (such as pheasants, hares, wild boar, deer, porcupines, foxes and badgers) can be seen. 

This farm is very interesting from a naturalistic point of view and because of its agricultural and woodland produce. The great oaks in the surrounding fields are over a hundred years old and show just how much the Cerinaie farming methods respect nature: completely organic methods are used and the use of fungicides and weed-killers is only a distant memory.

The wood, that has brought the farm to national level, is felled observing the cycles of nature and alternated by reforestation with different varieties of trees such as sycamore, cherry and walnut-trees. The farm has a high quality, tested spring, used to fill the swimming pool and for irrigation. This spring supplies drinking water even in periods of drought in the summer. The farm takes great pride in the organic cultivation of saffron. It is grown in sunny, uncontaminated soil without using any chemicals. This ensures that its many beneficial properties are unaffected.

The farmhouse is at an altitude of 450 metres and has five comfortable apartments each with 3-4 beds, heating, cooker, fridge, TV and washing machine. In the garden there is a bowling area, a place for barbecues and a picnic area. The chance to go trekking, mountain-biking or horse riding means you have the opportunity to have a wonderful time, in close contact with the surrounding countryside.
